I like it when a TV show wraps up with neat little bows around all the storylines. It's even better when there is promise of a movie and they STILL wrap things up with bows.
<-- DISCLAIMER --> If you haven't watched the series finale of
SATC, stop reading now if you don't want to be spoiled. <-- -->
Miranda ... It's only taken seven years, but Miranda's heart finally grows up. I think Magda was right when she said Mir could love and she showed it in selflessly offering to have S teve's mom live with them after her stroke, and then even bathing her after an especially sad episode of incoherence. Miranda's is probably the most realistic ending .... living in cool house in Brooklyn with her family. Still working, but having a real life.
Charlotte ... it was so thoughtless of that couple to use Charlotte and Harry just to see New York - when they knew they weren't going to let them adopt the baby. I loved the scene where Charlotte is the one comforting Harry -- and she is sure that that wasn't their baby anyway. And when Harry comes in with the envelope and picture -- we all just knew it was the perfect baby for them! I'm sure we'll get to see the munchkin in the movie.
Samantha ... loved Smith telling Sam he'd gone to counseling to help him deal with her having cancer and then sending her those not-yet-blooming flowers; it was great having Sam call Smith and tell him she wanted him to not be with other people; and Smith just keeps on getting sweeter by flying back to NY from his movie set just to tell Sam he loved her!
Carrie ... I'm glad they sewed up her storyline as they did. She needed come to the realization that Aleksander and Paris weren't for her -- all on her own. I don't think he meant to slap her or break the necklace ... but he's still a selfish egotistical guy who, like his ex said, didn't really want Carrie to have her own career (hence guilting her into not going to her party so she could go to his with her, and asking her to movie to Paris in the first place - he obviously didn't take her work seriously). So it was great to have her leave him all on her own, without any outside influences (i.e. Big!) Thankfully, Big didn't come into the picture until she had already decided to end things with Petrovsky. He comes in at just the right moment, and from that moment we knew things were going to be ok. He gets choked up FINALLY telling her she is THE ONE. Yes! Big and Carrie forever! :heartbeat: We finally find out Big's name -- JOHN -- and learn he's selling the house in Napa and moving back to the Big Apple to be with Carrie.
Could it be? A happy ending for all?
It will be interesting to see what they do in the movie now that all the girls are in relationships that, in the series finale, have led us to believe will be long-lasting and GOOD relationships.
OK that's all of my thoughts. Good bye to another favorite tv show. There are too many goodbyes this season:
SATC,
Friends,
Frasier,
Angel (any news about Angel maybe being picked up on UPN ??). And I still miss
Buffy.
