Why do you blog? What drives you to get online and post entries? Do you sometimes feel like just shutting down your site? If so, what stops you from doing that?// February 16th, 2004 // 4 Comments » // tagged: Site News

We tiled our master bathroom with porcelain tiles this weekend! They had linoleum floors down, so we had to rip that and the baseboards up and get the floor all nice and tidy. Then we had fun measuring ten times and cutting once (can't afford to mess up these tiles! :money:). We only had a few "delicate" cuts to make -- most of them were straight across, so it went pretty well. Steve's a wonder with that wet saw! By the end of the day, he was cutting really thin slices and not even blinking an eye! So after getting the entire floor cut and laid out, we then started slapping on the mortar, which is my favorite part about tiling. I love the gooeyness and spreading it out. It feels like doing some arts and crafts from elementary school! We'll probably grout tonight or tomorrow night -- some sources say wait 24 hours and others 48 hours -- who knows. The mortar that we used says we can grout after 24, so if we're up to it and my knees can stand being down there again I want to go ahead and get it finished so we can start using that bathroom again instead of having to go upstairs and shower and get ready! I love doing home projects like this though -- it's very satisfying to come up with an idea for something, plan it, and follow through and see it finished! Did anyone else out there know that Valmont is Cruel Intentions? Annette Bening = Sarah Michelle Gellar; Colin Firth = Ryan Phillipe. I knew Cruel Intentions was based on the book Dangerous Liasons by Choderlos de Laclos - but I didn't put it together that Valmont was based on that book as well ! It was still a fairly decent movie ... although it was quite long  As you'll notice, I've added my currently section on the side here. I'm doing it with MT and it's  ! Whenever I get an inkling to add something, I just post a new entry in the appropriate category and it adds it to my list. (The pictures don't really have anything to do with the category they're with, but I couldn't bear to lose my pictures of Sarah!) Went to the movies Saturday night .... Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl ! I liked it sooo much more than I thought I would. Steve was the one who actually wanted to see it and so I went. This is the best role Johnny Depp has had in years -- he was GREAT as Captain Jack Sparrow! He is the character who kept you involved in the movie ... Orlando Bloom was there on the sidelines with Ms. Swan (don't know her name) -- but it was Depp's character that interested you and kept you constantly wondering what he had up his sleeve! Good movie :thumbsup:// July 16th, 2003 // 2 Comments » // tagged: Site News
hip hip hooray for another automated task! FLINX, again from Sasha, is now in operation handling all of the fanlistings, cliques, banner exchanges, and even my quilt (very handy!) that I'm a member of. I am just loving php more and more every single day. :cloud9:// June 26th, 2003 // 6 Comments » // tagged: Site News
Silverberry now has its very own domain! I've been wanting to pull it off my business domain for a few months now -- and figured while I'm doing the new layout, and adding MT and everything -- I might as well finally move it over to silverberry.org! Soooo .... update your links if you have one !!! Thanks :biggrin:// June 24th, 2003 // 9 Comments » // tagged: Site News
I kept wondering why I was getting comments on the wrong posts. I used to have the link for comments at the bottom of my posts ....now it's up at the top with the date. But I guess people are used to clicking at the bottom to leave comments.... so I have several comments on my Redhead post about Palm Trees & Harry Potter! Oops!// June 20th, 2003 // No Comments » // tagged: Site News

It's been almost ELEVEN months since my last layout change -- unbelievable. I had been tiring of the Windows look for some time, but just didn't feel like doing a new layout. Then, last weekend, I was reading a magazine on CSS layout techniques, and it was featuring one of Noah Grey's (of Greymatter) old layouts -- I guess from his domain www.noahgrey.com -- and I thought I'd try my hand at it. I figured silverberry was long overdue for a fresh look .... so she got the unfortunate luck of me hacking away at code and graphics. It didn't turn out too badly -- and I enjoyed getting to use some personal pictures along the left hand side of the layout. (I can never see my little niece Sarah too often!) I'm still tweaking some of the pages -- so if you notice any problems, leave a note in my commenter! The more lasting difference in this layout between all my previous ones is that now I'm running my blog with Movable Type. I spent several days last week transferring my old blog entries into Movable Type .... not a task for the light-hearted. Whew! I was going to move over my comments as well, but after doing 4 months, I decided it wasn't worth it. I don't go back and read my comments, so I know noone else does. But I've got it all into MT now, and I'm loving it. Originally, I downloaded it to use for my husbands football website -- and he is going to use it there to manage the news archives -- and then after getting his set up and working, I decided to run silverberry on it as well. It was a time-consuming project, but well worth it in the end!// March 28th, 2003 // 5 Comments » // tagged: Site News
Happy One Year Anniversary to my blog! That's right, boys and girls, I've been babbling about my oh-so-exciting life on this here website for one year today. I know, I know, you can't remember what life was like before you had the pleasure of reading about my life on an almost daily basis. How fast the year has flown by! We're still moving -- still painting -- still sleep-deprived. The movers come tomorrow for our furniture and then we can finally spend the night in the house. That will be so much better -- we're exhausted from just driving back and forth so many times this week. It will be awesome to be able to sleep there! Then it will REALLY be home. Although, we'll still have to do the massive apartment cleanup on Sunday before handing in our keys on Monday morning -- that's always fun. But then we'll be outta there, never to return!// October 29th, 2002 // No Comments » // tagged: Site News
OK - Got an email today that humored me. I'm sure the person who sent it to me is probably going to read this -- but I don't really care. I mean -- come on. Do they honestly think I'm just going to basically copy my site onto a CD and just hand it over to them -- to use without having to do a single bit of work. Geez people. Here's the email: " Where can I get the same stuff you have on your site. I want the tag board. in fact I want to get variations of everything on your site. Yes I am my own webmaster... Thanks" That's the gist of it. Basically they want "everything on my site". Well then ... sure ... why not. I haven't bloody well spent hours and hours putting this site together just so that you can easily rip it and use it on your site. I'm not quite sure what the "Yes I am my own webmaster" bit meant .... lol Who knows. Well - that's my little stupid rant for the day. Sometimes I feel selfish and stupid for feeling so proprietary about my site and code .... but then I remember that I took the time to LEARN how to do this. Anyway - I feel like Addie now. She's always getting emails like that. LOL// October 4th, 2002 // 6 Comments » // tagged: Site News
