Must ... Stop ... Playing ... Sims

I ordered my copy of The Sims 2 before we left on vacation. The DVD special edition. It arrived at my office two days after we left for California. The beautiful amazon box sat on my desk for two weeks. Waiting faithfully for me to return. I installed it last night on my laptop ... and much joy and excitement ensued as I created my Sim (I'm just doing one for right now) and built her house. So much joy and excitement was had that I stayed up until the weee hours of the morning playing with my Sim. What is it about this game that causes such obsession? I don't play ANY other games. Solitaire is about as gamey as I get on my computer. But The Sims ... just bring out something in me. Sigh. I can tell this isn't going to be good for the laundry piling up at our house.
