Sweet. For vous?
Oui ... a little gift for me from Silver Strawberry! I've been laptop shopping for a while now - and when I saw a few nice mail in rebates and dell free shipping offers, I snapped it up! :dance:
I love Dell. And I was actually just looking at one, but the Inspiron 5150, beefed up a little. But I don't really need it right now, so I should probably just wait. Sigh. Waiting is so hard. As you're probably figuring out while waiting for it...
You should have gone with wuxga screen....especially with the website stuff you do. It makes a big difference especially at the higher resolutions that a lot of people like to run laptops at. I run mine at 1900X1200 and it is crystal clear....the wxga card is ok at first...but it starts to go down hill fast...especially with graphic intensive applications. FYI....I ordered this same laptop a year ago (it was then the 8500) and they missed the ship date by 2 months....they ended up having to get their plant in Taiwan to make it and ship it from there.
I just got an email from our corporate guys - we get a 10% discount on Dell machines, and they have a special running for an additional 20% off some systems (including the top-of the line XPS that I would buy). The killer rig I configured still costs $2200 though. I think I'll keep waiting for flatscreen prices to come down and for dual-layer DVD writers to hit the shelves before I buy a new machine.
Yeah those XPS machines are sweet. I just wasn't up for spending $$$$ ... I'm still gonna love my 9100 though. Maybe I'll get it early next week :)
