The Da Vinci Code

Dan Brown's latest novel, The Da Vinci Code, is a gripping suspense-religious-thriller that takes us on an involved history lesson complete with secrety societies, Vatican politics and the protection of the royal bloodline of Jesus. So much of the book is indeed historical fact ... and perhaps the fiction based on fact is what draws us into the story and helps us as we travel through Paris and England on a quest for ... what else ... the Holy Grail.

The book begins with the murder of the highly-respected curator of the Louvre ... his death sets into motion a series of events and codes and deceptions that grip you throughout the rest of the book! Do I believe what the book proposes? Well ... as a Christian, I don't take much of the ideology in the book for truth. I took this book for what it was -- an interesting and suspenseful journey of fiction based on historical fact.
