Do you back up your blog? How often? (Do you export your entries from MT into text files?)

Do you back up your MySQL (or other backend) database frequently?

Have you ever needed your backup?

If you didn't have a backup, and lost everything .... would you start over or just consider it a sign to stop blogging?

Do you backup your home computers? How often?

What, hum, hmmm? Backup blogs? I consider myself extremely organized in that I keep current backups of all my sites. Blogs? No. Perhaps I just don't care about my random ramblings enough. :wide-eyed:

My database gets backed up nightly and gets copied to my other machine in case the server crashes. That's really the only thing I concern myself over losing. I archive the code for my blog on occasion, but it wouldn't be a huge loss if it got trashed. I'd probably have more fun rewriting it to be better than getting it running on the old code again.

So far I haven't had to restore from a backup.

What about you?

My host does backups of everything nightly, so I've gotten hideously lazy about it.

I've needed a backup just recently when I accidentally deleted a blog from within MT.

If I lost everything, I'd probably just setup a new blog again.

We backup our home computers only when we're about to format it. I'm bad about backing up in general.

Unrelated, this is my first visit to your blog - it is gorgeous! Good work!
