:sevenonsunday: Seven things people might not know about you ...
1. I play the piano and flute. I'm a somewhat accomplished classical pianist, but haven't played anywhere other than home for several years. I was in band all through school, and enjoyed having the smallest instrument in the marching band -- the piccolo!
2. My first name, Lacy, is my mother's maiden name. My middle name, Marie, is also my mom's, grandmother's, great-grandmothers and so-on's middle name. Anyone want to guess what my first daughter's middle name will be? I love it that my parents made my name be special and mean something in our family.
3. I talk in my sleep when I'm really tired. Sometimes I even sing. (My husband usually informs me the next day of my my nighttime repertoire :sing: )
4. I originally met my husband online! We developed a strong friendship and exchanged emails and letters for almost four years before we met in person. Two years later I walked down the aisle and married him - my best friend and soulmate :heartbeat:
5. I had an ovarian cyst the size of an apple removed from my left ovary almost two years ago. (Wow. 2 years. Time really flies -- I can't believe it's been that long!)
6. Every day I wear my wedding rings on my left hand, a sapphire ring my grandmothers gave me for graduation on my right hand, a ruby pendant necklace from Steve, my watch and two earrings in each ear (usually a gold hoop in the first, and little diamonds in the second.)
7. I was born 4 minutes after my mother arrived at the hospital. My dad didn't even make it up from the parking garage in time for my arrival! My parents have always said I was in a hurry then, and I haven't stopped since :bounce:
:mondaymission: 1. I read an article that said the reason many people like hot and spicy food is because that pain actually causes them pleasure. Do personally find a connection between pleasure and pain? Ah not really.
2. On the local NPR station their was a news item that about a recent study which said men who do housework get more sex. What do you think about that? Why would that be the case? Probably true. I know if my husband helps me out with housework, I'm in a better mood. And that's always a good thing for him!
3. A friend and I were talking about the stigma attatched to divorce. He said that men can usually be divorced and not have much social backlash, but that women are often looked at as having failed in some way. The church especially, he said, tended to look down upon divorced women as if it were totally their fault and not the man's. Do you think there is a double-standard when it comes to men and women and the stigma of divorce? I think divorce is usually the result of TWO people who cannot get past their problems. I would think it would only be a small percentage of people who could honestly place the blame ENTIRELY on one half of the couple.
4. On that same topic, I just read an article (look on Google News) that said parents with daughters are more likely to divorce than parents with sons. Do you think there is any validity to this? I don't think so. Although isn't it true that couples with children are less likely to divorce than childless couples?
5. Do you think the way a Father raises his daughter has an impact on the type of men she will eventually have relationships with? Most definitely. Although it might have more to do with how your dad treats your mom -- that has a great impact on the type of relationships you eventually have.
6. Have you ever found your body craving some sort of food? Meat, chocolate, fruit and even water, the body tends to know what it needs. Do you get food cravings? Which are the most powerful? I have a major sweet tooth. I crave galaxy chocolate quite frequently, and unfortunately, can't get it anywhere in the states. We bring back lots of it whenever we visit Steve's family ... but it just never lasts long enough!
7. Do you have any type of skills you can "fall back on" if you needed to change careers suddenly? I could go back to working at a hospital. And while I absolutely loved working in surgery ... it would be soooo stressful to return to that lifestyle. And it is a lifestyle. Being on call, regularly working 70+ hours a week .... whew. Let's hope I don't need to change careers suddenly!

I've got the middle name thing in my family too, only ours is Ann. I love it too, I like it better than having the same first name.
