armegedon outta here

For the first time in several weeks, Steve and I actually went out to the movies. For $16 we saw Bruce Almighty .... and were easily entertained for just under two hours. I enjoy Jim Carrey in films like this (I wasn't a big fan of the Ace Ventura movies though) .... and am becoming more of a Jennifer Aniston fan each time I see her in a movie. (Everybody seen The Good Girl ? It's a role you'd never picture JA in.) And Morgan Freeman always gets the best roles .... hasn't he played God in some other movie as well? I can't remember.

I recently implemented Sasha's phpFanbase code on all of my fanlistings ... and what a HUGE help that is. I used to have about 40 new members to add to various fanlistings every day -- and it was always such a pain  to have to open up the file and type in their info from the email, and then upload the page, update the home page with the "date last updated", etc etc etc. What a headache. It took me a few hours to transfer all my data into SQL and do the installation for each fanlisting .... but now maintaining my fanlistings is a totally headache-free task. I created a page that lists all my fanlistings, how many current members I have and if I have any pending applications. So all I have to do is visit that page and I know if I need to add anyone, and it's a one or two click process. FANTASTIC. God Bless Sasha!!!!

I guess that has been my goal over the past few months. To automate as much as possible for all my websites. Hence the move to movable type for my blog and the migrating of my fanlistings from manual updates to the fantastic phpFanbase. Why do more work than you have to!!

Anybody have any insight into how to share calendars and folders in Outlook on a network NOT running Exchange? --Microsofts free/busy service doesn't do what we're looking for -- (In case I haven't mentioned it ... I've basically become the network administrator for my office. Well actually there's no basically to it. I'm the only person around here who knows an ethernet cable from a snickers bar, so I've gotten stuck with a lot of responsibility. It's a huge headache ... but I am learning SO MUCH :book:, and that is always good for me. I love learning new things .... and boy I've had a crash course in networking and servers over the past couple of months! :pc: I am now the proud owner of all of my very own tech-support stupid questions archive. I'll have to post those sometime.)

and you're asking me MT related questions? okay, one, i think. but i should be bombarding you with questions as i do jeff everytime i start doing something new. and i really, really want to see BA. GG was great. and heeeyyy, maybe you will know -- the Last Updated date code doesn't work on my fanlistings for some reason. it shows the date i add the code on, but never updates... help me?

 I emailed you a copy of my generic home.php file that calls the date updated. Compare it with yours and maybe that will reveal the problem .... :uhh:

You definitely should see BA. I think its the best movie JC has done in while (although ... I enjoyed The Majestic - it wasn't your normal JC movie, but I liked it .... )

I need to find something to get into that Addie already knows a bunch about so I can ask her all the questions. :evillaugh:

Hey it's pretty handy to have a bunch of people around you who are web/code/computer-intelligient .... if you can't figure something out, odds are that somebody you know can help you figure it out ! That's the great thing about the web community ... the free exchange of ideas and support !! (Although it does give you a rush when you figure stuff out all by yourself .... !!!!! I'm pretty good at MT now ... I've even added some macros and stuff so that every time I type Jeff, Addie, and other of my frequently used terms -- MT automatically links it to your website and does alt text saying your name and domain! It does all sorts of cool stuff. Love macros. )

Jeff Jeff Jeff Addie Addie Addie. Cool!

Weird. In my blog, if I type Jeff, Addie, etc -- it links it AND displays a little description. But in the comments, it only does the link. Odd. It's the same exact macro! I'll have to sort that out later
