We own a house!!

| | Comments (5)

We are officially homeowners!! We closed this morning at 8:00; can you believe it only took 30 minutes to buy a house? Unbelieveable. We did sign our names about 30 times (which was a lot less than I thought!) -- but it was a fairly painless experience. We got a great interest rate, are comfortable with the closing terms, and LOVE the house -- what more could we ask for? Now we just have to wait til Sunday afternoon to get the keys! We talked to the sellers last night (we needed to get some info about the security and satellite systems) and they sounded totally stressed. It's totally stressful moving, period -- but I'm sure when you have two small children it's even more stressful. I think they are about to blow -- and are so ready to have it over and done with. They're going to call us on Sunday when they leave and we'll go and get the keys. Happy dance!!!! Let the painting begin! We're going to repaint the master bedroom and bath .... and probably the dining room as well. We're trying to get as much of that done as possible BEFORE our furniture gets there and is in the way. I love painting anyway -- so I can't wait! (can you tell I'm just a little excited? ).

I've made a few purchases this week .... this pretty cool gardenhose & sprayer for my husband who is dying to start growing an English garden, finally bought this book (only $1.32 .. !), the latest J.D. Robb thriller (I love this series!), and I've added a bunch of new stuff to my wishlist. I think I've finally figured out why you should have a wishlist on Amazon. So that when you see something you like - -you add it to your wishlist so you don't forget about it. It's not like you really have a wishlist so OTHER people can buy you stuff -- it's so that YOU can remember what you liked. Or at least thats how I see it. Then every once in a while, you go through your wishlist and see whats available through the amazon marketplace, and you can get books for $1.32. What more can a girl ask for.

Found a few blogs to add to my read list:

Dave .... Davezilla

Christine ... Big
Pink Cookie

Leia .... Random
Thoughts from a Large Head

Mike .... AKA Cooties

Matthew .... Defective
Yeti

Back to work ... so glad it's Friday! We're going out to dinner tonight
to celebrate being homeowners -- Logan's, of course (it's Steve's favorite
restaurant ... thank goodness I like it too! We go there like 2 or 3 times
a month!).... OH and I asked for comments in my last blog .... whew! Thanks
guys.... I think we can cool it with the political debates though. Now
that war has started ... all we can do is pray that it's over quickly.
Although it looks like North Korea isn't going to be ignored either ....
who knows what will happen next. Ugh. For now, I'm just getting back to
work. Later guys.

Lacy, that's the cutest house I've ever seen. It looks so country..geez, a front porch and everything. We don't have houses like that here. Congratulations!

Oh, you love painting? Uck! But, then I always seem to get it everywhere but the walls! :) Congrats again!!

It IS a cute house :) It's Victorian style and has a nice big back deck and everything too. We're moving this week -- taking boxes down every night after work and we're also doing a little painting in the master bedroom and bathroom. Fun! Movers are coming on Friday to move our furniture -- so Friday night is our first night to sleep at the house. I can't wait!!

Glad you can view my site properly now .... isn't a large screen resolution awesome??? You'll never go back!

how exciting! :) hope everything is still going well. i found this at amazon - and is it just me, or have sweet valley books gotten even more senseless?:

Elizabeth Wakefield is avoiding Prince Laurent de Sainte-Marie. He may be devastatingly cute, but he's engaged to Antonia Di Rimini, the daughter of a haughty countess. Then Elizabeth learns that Prince Laurent has refused to marry Antonia--because he loves Elizabeth! Elizabeth doesn't want to cause an international incident...but is running away from Chateau d'Amour Inconnu the answer?

Jessica Wakefield's sexy new boyfriend, Jacques Landeau, made an awful mistake. To save himself, he got her mixed up in a major jewel theft. He's apologized a million times, but she's not ready to forgive him. Will Jessica reconsider when he reveals a heart-wrenching secret?

oops, hit enter too soon. to finish... aren't they, like, still in high school? hence, the "high" in the title? what's all this about french lovers and engagements and jewel thefts? sigh.

hehe .... and by now they must be major hoochie-mommas! How many boyfriends is this? And HOW long have they been in high-school now? Whew. Hope they don't plan on wearing white when they finally end up marrying the princes of sweet valley college 90210. ;)
