I started a new job last week .... I'm still doing my web design business but I decided I wanted some steady income and more importantly I wanted benefits like INSURANCE. Sooooo I'm doing some database work for one of the downtown churches here in Nashville. It works out ok because I only have to work four and a half days a week .... and it's always during the day -- so I have plenty of time to do whatever after work and on Fridays. And I get paid every two weeks (instead of every 2-3 months when I decided to send out invoices to clients .... LOL). And I get insurance. Big plusses. It's also been kinda cool --- because several of the people there have referred people to MY business. Just this week I've already gotten one new client .... which is always excellent. It's all about networking .... who you know that knows somebody else that knows somebody else ... that might want to hire you to do some web design. The more people you know, the more people they know, the more jobs you get. So I figure this is a good thing. For a little while anyway.
We had put another bid in on ANOTHER house Sunday afternoon (that was simply beautiful & perfect) .... and whaddya know another person bid on the house an HOUR after we did. The sellers chose their offer because it was like $2000 more or something. Grrrrrrr. I'm really becoming disenthralled with the whole 'buying a house' thing. It's soooo frustrating to get all hyped up about a house and only get disappointed every single time. However, we have to have somewhere to live --- so we've both been online looking for something else. I'm trying to remain detached this time.
I have a minor gripe now. I was supposed to have lunch with a friend of mine on Saturday. We were going to meet at 12:30 at Logan's. At 1:30, after I had already finished my lunch and was trying to reach her for the fiftieth time on her cell phone, she finally decides to call and let me know she's running late. I just told her to go home and I'd see her some other time. Argh. It made me so mad, but at the same time, it didn't surprise me. I mean -- hello -- an HOUR later she calls to say she's going to be late??? Why couldn't she have called at 12:40 or even better 12:20 and just reschedule. Grrrrrrrrrr.
I think I'm getting back into the "blog" of things ...... you just log on, type whatever is in your head, and post it. Why did I have to drag myself on here tonight to do it? It's not THAT hard. Anyway ..... later!
