Buying a house is no walk in the park

Interesting week. Have you ever been so irritated with someone that you just don't want to even be in a room with them -- and yet that person has no idea that he deserves the irritation? He is irritated with you and yet you don't understand why he's irritated at you either? ARGGGHHHH. Steve and I have both been so annoying this week --- and its all related to looking for a house. Don't ever let anybody tell you that house-hunting is fun and great for a marriage. It's hard, frustrating, and evidently great for causing irritation between two people. I have been driving several hours each day looking around at houses --- trying to get a better idea of what these places look like in person. I was doing this because I thought it would reduce the amount of houses we had to see with the realtor. There are some houses that when you see them in person, you can automatically say "NO" to -- and that narrows our list down, which I thought would be helpful. Evidently I'm being selfish by trying to save us some time though. I ALMOST think he doesn't believe me about one of our favorite houses. I drove an hour and a half to get to it --- and then there was another house practically sitting in its driveway. They have FIVE acres --- and they put the house right on the edge of the property and now another house is literally right on top of it. I KNOW we do not want that house now because of the other house, AND because of the long drive ---- but I just get this feeling that Steve thinks I'm making it all up. Grrrrr. Maybe he's just in a bad mood this week -- I don't know. Last night I was just tired and went and read for a few hours so I wouldn't have to look or talk to him.

I'm trying to figure out what the deal is --- and maybe its just he wants to look at all the houses too -- even the crappy ones that I know he won't like. I think that's it --- but he doesn't have TIME to drive around for 4 hours --- whereas I do have the time because I work from home. I don't see why it's so bad that I'm looking at all the houses we're interested in ---- some of them are obvious "NO's" because of neighbors or where the house is in relation the road, etc etc etc. In my head, its easier for me to go and do this now, than drag a realtor around with us and end up just driving right past 10-15 houses because we know without going in them we aren't interested.

Anyway -- I'm thinking of doing a new layout again because I'm getting kinda tired of my chromeless window. I don't really have any ideas though -- so it will take me a while. Anybody out there have any comments on your like or dislike for chromeless and/or popup window sites? I hate it when every single page of content pops up in a new popup window -- that gets irritating -- but the ONE chromeless window I have this site in doesn't annoy me too much. Anybody out there annoyed? Be honest!
